INTRODUCTIONThe purpose of the Interior Design Awards is to celebrate and recognise interior design excellence via a credible, industry-based program, which is backed by the Design Institute of Australia, the professional body representing Australian designers. The awards conferred have both national and international significance. The judging process is anonymous, transparent and confidential. It is based on peer review and conforms to international standards. Jurors are eminent designers working with a convenor appointed by the Design Institute of Australia Entrants and their projects receive considerable media recognition via a range of newspapers, magazines and websites, including permanent addition to the online Awards Archive for all shortlisted, commended and awarded projects. Any Australian based design professional can enter. Projects can be located anywhere in the world. Funds raised by the program are used solely to deliver the program. REGISTER NOWEntry submissions for the 2009 Interior Design Awards will be accepted from 17 November 2008 to 20 February 2009, for projects completed between 1 September 2007 and 31 December 2008. CONCURRENT EVENTSThe Interior Design Awards Presentation will be held in Melbourne on Friday 1 May 2009 and is the social highlight for a number of concurrent events such as designEX 2009 and the 2009 Australian Institute of Architects’ National Conference. This is the largest annual gathering of design and architecture professionals, with events centred on the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, from 30 April to 2 May. Award winners receive a beautifully framed certificate and use of the Interior Design Awards logo for printed and promotional materials (on request).
